Language intrigues me, it has for a long time, probably since the days when Dad would screw around with words for fun. He’d twist words in silly ways and even make some up. He always enjoyed repeating the absurd colloquialisms of others. I think my fascination with poetry and language in general goes back to Dad. The older I get the more I want to write my own unique (and hopefully interesting) expressions. Whether it be in poetic form or some other, I want to have fun with the words that fill our lives.

I hope to use this blog as a place to share poetry— both my own and the poems of others I appreciate. I’ll share writing and ideas that speak to me in some way, especially if they advocate the need to be present in our lives. I’ll write about activities that rejuvenate and challenge me, including spiritual practice, running, music, cooking and eating, or whatever else gets me going.
